As part of the Health and Wellness 2024 event series, the Pickleball Deutsches Haus 2024 tournament, organized by Mybody and Deutsches Haus, took place on October 19 at the German Consulate Building (33 Le Duan, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

The tournament aims to connect sports lovers in general and pickleball in particular, as well as celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20). At the same time, the tournament brings experiences about health and healthy lifestyles from leading health and nutrition brands such as Mybody gym, Yangmiwa Japan anti-aging solution, EVO Vietnam sports equipment brand, VIVAIA health shoes or DripCare Anti-Aging Institute.

The tournament attracts 32 athletes at the Newbie or 3.0+ level to compete in two categories: women's doubles and mixed doubles. Each event will have 8 teams, divided into 2 groups competing in a round robin. The top two teams in each group will advance to the finals.

The matches are played in the format of 11 points, with a 2-goal difference, or if one of the two teams reaches 15 points first, they will change courts by 6 points. A win is worth 1 point, a loss is worth 0 points. The final match is played in 15 points, 8 points, with a 2-goal difference, or if one team reaches 21 points first.

After a day of exciting and dramatic competition, the tournament has determined the best pairs. Specifically, in the women's doubles, the pair Chau Thi Tien and Tran Thi My Dung won the championship after winning 15-12 against Nguyen Thi Hong and Bui Ngoc Bich. In the mixed doubles, the pair Sam Vinh Loc and Nguyen Thi Kim Nhi won the championship after winning 15-12 against the pair Phuong Nguyen and Daniel Chan.

The champion for each category includes: 2 Mybody gym service experience packages for 6 months (VND 25.8 million), 2 pairs of health shoes from the international fashion brand VIVAIA (VND 9 million), the male champion 1 bottle of Yang NMN 15,000mg (worth VND 5.5 million), the female champion 1 bottle of Yangmiwa Slim + 1 Yangmiwa Extra Slim gel 80ml (worth VND 5.5 million), Gift Card of DripCare Cell Anti-Aging Institute (worth VND 9.8 million).

In particular, the beautiful athlete Dang Thi Yen received the Miss Sporty award for the female athlete with the most beautiful, friendly outfit and impressive competition style. The award includes a 1-year experience of Mybody's gym service (VND 24.6 million), a pair of health shoes from the international fashion brand VIVAIA (VND 4.5 million), a 3-month course of Yang NMN 15,000mg (worth VND 16.5 million), and a Gift Card from the DripCare Cellular Anti-Aging Institute (VND 9.8 million).

It is known that Dang Thi Yen is a volleyball player, having won a provincial volleyball gold medal. Before coming to pickleball, she used to play tennis. The Deutsches Haus Pickleball Tournament 2024 is only the 3rd tournament she has competed in after a few months of getting acquainted with this sport. Dang Thi Yen made a good impression on all the athletes by her friendliness, following and cheering for other teams with her fiery playing style.

Not only attracting players at the Newbie level who have only practiced for a short time, the tournament is also supported by many foreign athletes who have never played pickleball. Mr. Maik Berger (45 years old, from Germany, also CEO of Mybody, the tournament organizer) said: “This is the first time I have tried Pickleball. I used to be a runner, participating in some small football, tennis, and badminton tournaments in Germany. I have played sports for over 10 years and regularly organize health and sports workshops, but this is the first time I have organized an indoor sports event. I want to try and learn. After experiencing it, I find this sport very interesting. I will learn to play better”.
